VAST Manager Training Course

The VAST Training Program is a professional development course designed to support operational growth at VAST Design & Construction by expanding the role of in-house bookkeepers and office managers. As the company transitions from a founder-operated model to a more distributed structure, this training equips administrative staff to take on essential project estimation and client communication responsibilities previously managed by the owner.

This course provides structured, hands-on instruction in cost analysis, estimate generation, and client contract preparation. Through video-based walkthroughs, real-world examples, and guided templates, learners will gain the knowledge and confidence to complete key project management tasks—streamlining workflows and enhancing overall company efficiency.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

  • Analyze site notes to assess job costs for both design and construction phases.

  • Use internal pricing structures and wage tables to estimate labor, materials, overhead, and profit margins.

  • Create complete client profiles with relevant personal and project information.

  • Generate formal job estimates and contracts using company templates.

  • Communicate professionally with clients through clear, accurate documentation.

Training is delivered via an interactive, self-paced Articulate Rise module and includes embedded assessments, closed captions, screen-reader support, and a certificate of completion. The curriculum is designed with adaptability in mind and may be repurposed for similar roles in small to mid-sized contracting businesses seeking administrative upskilling and operational scalability.
